Making GIFS for fun

After having completed the gif assignment, I wanted to try out how some of the other gif websites worked just for fun. 

So, I made each gif using each of the three websites suggested to us for class. 


Gif #1- Giphy 

I made this on Giphy using a clip from the second Spongebob movie:


Gif #2- Ezgif 

I made this one on Ezgif using a clip from Space Jam: A New Legacy



Gif #3- Imgflip Animated Gif Maker

I made this one on Imgflip using their animated gif maker and a clip from a trailer for an upcoming Mario game I'm looking forward to. 


I like how all three came out and it was interesting to see each website's approach to handing the video to make the gif. Though I feel I like the one I made in Giphy the best for how high quality it came out. I most  likely will be using that website to make gifs more often.

 This year saw the release of a live action/animation adaptation of Tom and Jerry. Marking this the duo's third foray into the realm of live action.  As someone who is and has been a massive Tom and Jerry fan since he was a kid, has seen all the original shorts and Direct To DVD movies, and longs to write a feature for the duo who had such a huge impact on his sense of comedy I thought it was.....okay.  In comparison to the last theatrical Tom and Jerry film that was released in 1992, which had the duo talk and sing *shivers*, this new movie is much more faithful to the original shorts. Tom and Jerry don't talk and the film embraces the duo's iconic brand of slapstick and pays homage to several iconic gags and setups from the original shorts. The Witness and Alberto Mieglo

 One of my favorite shows streaming on Netflix right now is called "Love Death and Robots"  The show, which was originally meant to be a remake of the 1981 anthology film "Heavy Metal", is an adult anthology show consisting of several animated shorts spread across each season. Each short ranges in style and tone but the overall theme of all of the shorts goes back to the title.  I remember watching the first season of the show back when it premiered in 2019. While I loved majority of the shorts, one of them that really stood out to me, visually at least, was the third short of season one: "The Witness".  "The Witness" is a thriller following a woman who witnesses a murder and is spotted by the killer. She is then pursued through the streets of Tokyo as she attempts to escape the killer.  Once separates this short from the others in that season is the distinctive style. Sonic The Hedgehog 2 Trailer

As someone who did a previous post on why the movie redesign for Sonic The Hedgehog was much needed, It amazes me how far the movie has come. This went from a film being widely hated due to the design and was being anticipated to be a complete failure as well another punch in the gut for Sonic's history to being one of the few good video game based movies and one of the few examples of the people behind a major movie actually listening to feedback from fans of the property.  It's because of the fact that they listened that the film was as successful as it was at the box office and now has just released the trailer for the sequel that, in a big way, promises to give fans of Sonic what they want to see.  While I liked the first Sonic movie and really appreciated the fact that the crew involved redesigned the character, I couldn't say that I "loved" the movie or consider it to be the high point for video game film adaptations.
