Pixar Internship Video Session

Today I had the opportunity to tune into a Zoom video session for Pixar's Internship program for 2022. 

After mostly hearing about the internship in a previous video session I watched with a Pixar artist, I really wanted to get more in-depth with the process of getting an internship and the positions.

The season started with a great video showing some of the people who were involved with what I assume was last year's internship and talking about their experience with the program and then they talked about how there are several different departments such as "Editorial & Production Management" and "Technology & Layout" that you can choose to apply for. They also talked about what type of work you can include in your portfolio and what to put into your cover letter. As well as a reel of your work. 

I asked about what is needed for a portfolio for the editorial department internship, particularly because I noticed I've been doing a lot of editing recently, so if I do choose to apply maybe I can go into that department. 

It was nice to finally get an idea of what the process of the internship is and I am very interested in applying for it.

Just recently I posted about my appreciation for Kevin Temmer and his work.  Well, in addition to his video "What's the matter Martha?", my second favorite video from him is a song that addresses how most animated features tend to start simply titled Exposition Song. Temmer hilariously makes fun of how most animated features tell rather than show and does it via a CG character that has a flat, 2D look to them. Gushing about Gumball

If you were to ask me what was one of the best cartoons to come out of the 2010's, I would almost instantly say 'The Amazing World of Gumball". No hesitation. I feel like Gumball is a cartoon unlike any other from Cartoon Network or any other cartoon that was airing during its run. From a comedy standpoint, the show is absolutely hilarious. I don't think I've seen a show that, for me at least, has had almost EVRY episode hit with how funny it is. Whether it's the witty dialogue, visual comedy, slapstick, meta humor or the satirical humor that I feel gives South Park a run for its money. From a character standpoint, I think the show has given The Simpsons a run for its money with just how many diverse characters populate the world of Elmore and have been given time to shine in either a gag or a full episode. Photoshop Tutorial Assignment

  I have watched and followed along with the "Get to Know Photoshop" assignment for class. Here are some of the screenshots of what I did for most of the videos such as opening images, get familiar with the work area, and more.  I feel the results of a lot of what I did came out quite well as far as a tutorial go. They really make me excited to see how I'll utilize them during the corse.
